Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update Bulletin for Parents/Carers
Whilst there are no reported cases at school, we wish to reassure you that measures are being taken in order to ensure the health and safety of pupils and staff.
We are aiming that only children on school dinners will go to the Hall for lunch, packed lunch children will eat lunch in classes. We will increase our lunch break time and breaktimes in order increase the ‘social distancing’ of pupils; We have been reminding children of handwashing techniques and reinforcing this throughout the day. We have automated hand sanitizers throughout the school but as you will appreciate however, hand gel is in limited supply; All visits out of school have been cancelled and visits to the Church.
As a school, we continue to promote good hand and respiratory hygiene and respectfully ask that you support this at home too. If you need any further information please go to: https://phw.nhs.wales/coronavirus and there is also general information here for the public: https://www.swansea.gov.uk/coronavirusadvice.
Breakfast and after-school clubs will continue to run as normal for the time being. We will, of course, communicate any changes as they arise. We are currently following Government advice and the school will remain open until we are advised otherwise. We are mindful of the fact that closure may be inevitable in the coming weeks. In order to prepare for such an eventuality, we are in the process of collating online resources via hwb classrooms, https://hwb.gov.wales/. Teachers will add learning material to this area focusing on planned work from their current topic.
We would also encourage you to use the following online learning areas: https://www.mymaths.co.uk/ https://readingeggs.co.uk/ https://ttrockstars.com/ https://www.tynker.com/ (from Y3-6) We will continue to liaise with the local authority regarding our response to the virus and will post updates on the school website and on the Twitter feed as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation as we continue to work together to provide a safe environment for our school community.
