Today was Christmas Jumper and Dinner Day! Everyone had a delicious Christmas dinner and ice-cream and a gingerbread man biscuit for dessert. It was a jolly, noisy affair with lots of Christmas music and singing (shouting/screaming!) It's beginning to look a lot like.......
We had another very successful Christmas Enterprise Fayre which made a profit of over £750. All classes from Reception upwards designed, voted on and made items to sell. They worked out costs, profits and made adverts to sell their goods. All the pupils really enjoyed leading the event and running the stalls and there was a lovely festive buzz around the place. It greatly helped that it was the ONE day it wasn't raining and everyone could wander around the stalls in the yard as well as in the hall.
Last week we invited members of our parishes and community in for coffee and mince pies. They were wonderfully looked after by our Mini Vinnies who led us in a quiz. There was also entertainment from all the classes singing their Christmas concert songs.
On Monday 15th December, members of Year 4 joined together with our other Catholic cluster schools for a moving carol service in the Co-Cathedral Church of St Joseph, Swansea. The pupils sang beautifully and there were many of our past pupils in the Bishop Vaughan choir, orchestra and were reading. It really did get everyone in the festive mood.
Years 3 - 6 retold the story of the First Christmas beautifully in St Benedict’s Church. All the pupils joined in with the lovely singing and the Tableau and actors were excellent. Huge staff to all pupils and to parents for their lovely costumes. Big thanks too to all the staff for their hard work.
Years 1 & 2 wowed everyone with their fun-filled Christmas play ‘Ralph the Reindeer’ for our second Christmas concert. There was excellent singing, dancing and acting, and Ralph was excellent! They certainly put a smile on everyone’s face and again reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. Huge thanks to all pupils and to parents for their lovely costumes. Big thanks too to all the staff for their hard work.
Nursery and Reception Classes started off our school Christmas plays with an excellent 'Happy Birthday Jesus' play. All the children sang beautifully, looked lovely and were very well behaved and reverent. There were even a few soloists! Thank you to all the pupils for reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas and huge thanks to all the staff for their hard work and guidance.
This week Early Years have had their Christmas party and had a very special visitor as they have been so good!
