Owain Glyndŵr Day Assembly – 16th September

This morning our school came together to celebrate Owain Glyndŵr Day, a special occasion that takes place each year on 16th September. Owain Glyndŵr is remembered as the last native Prince of Wales, who was proclaimed Prince of Wales by his followers in 1400. He is an important figure in Welsh history and continues to be celebrated as a national hero.

To mark the day, our pupils dressed in the colours of red and yellow, with many also choosing to come as princes and princesses. The hall was filled with colour and excitement as we gathered for our assembly.

During the assembly, we watched a short video which helped us to learn more about Owain Glyndŵr’s life and why he is such a significant figure for Wales. We also joined together in singing our national anthem with pride, filling the room with Welsh spirit.

It was a wonderful way to remember Owain Glyndŵr, to celebrate our heritage, and to share a sense of pride in our Welsh identity.
