Marvellous Minibeasts – A Wonderful Wales-Wide Interactive Learning Experience!

An exciting online adventure all about the world of Marvellous Minibeasts!

Today we joined together with schools across Wales for an exciting online adventure all about the world of Marvellous Minibeasts! Hosted live on Microsoft Teams, this interactive lesson brought children from many different schools together to learn, explore and have fun with science.

The session focused on a fascinating range of tiny creatures, from wriggling newts and freshwater shrimp to a variety of creepy crawlies found in different habitats. Pupils learned about where these animals live, how they survive, and why they are so important to our environment.

One of the highlights of the session was a chance to look through the microscope at real-life minibeasts. Seeing their tiny legs, eyes and body parts up close sparked plenty of curiosity and discussion! The expert presenters guided us through what we were seeing and explained each creature’s role in the ecosystem.

The fun didn’t stop there – the lesson was filled with interactive quizzes and questions that kept everyone engaged from start to finish. Whether we were identifying pond creatures or guessing which habitat matched which minibeast, pupils were eager to take part and test their knowledge.

This collaborative event was a great example of how digital learning can connect classrooms across Wales and bring science to life. A huge thank you to the organisers and presenters for making learning about nature so memorable – and so much fun!

We can’t wait for the next opportunity to dive into the natural world together.
