Fire Smart Starts at St Joseph’s!
The Fire Service came to work with Years 5 and 2, teaching them about the dangers of fire and the importance of having proper fire alarms in our homes.

Menter Iaith came to work with Years 3 & 4, teaching us lots of fun games using Welsh commands and phrases.
Today, we were treated to a beautiful assembly led by our Year 5 pupils, all about The Holy Rosary. The children reminded us that October is the month of Mary, a special time to pray the Rosary and reflect on her love and faith.
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 had a great time working with the Urdd Leader learning about shelter making orienteering. The weather was great and everyone learnt lots of new skills.
Years 5 & 6 had a great day with Theatre Na Nog, watching the 'Eye of the Storm' play and completing workshops.







Our Year 3 and 4 classes took part in a very special live video event called Restart a Heart, in partnership with Save a Life Cymru. The session helped us understand the vital work that emergency services do when someone experiences a cardiac arrest.
This week, Year 3 put their estimating and measuring skills into action in the Clydach community when they went to measure the famous statue of Ludwig Mond.
Our Year 3 class enjoyed a truly magical trip to the Gwyn Hall, Neath, today to watch a fantastic musical performance of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. From the moment the curtain rose, the children were transported into Willy Wonka’s world of chocolate, sweets and surprises.
Our Year 4 pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Oystermouth Castle, diving into the rich history of one of Swansea’s most iconic landmarks. The children explored the ancient ruins and imagined life as knights and nobles in medieval times. It was a brilliant opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life, and their enthusiasm and curiosity made the day truly memorable. A big thank you to all staff who helped make the visit such a success!
Year 1 had a real shock when they arrived at school today! They found a crashed spaceship outside their classroom. They became detectives for the day until they found the spaceship's driver.
Year 1 went on a hunt around the school and found clues. They interviewed teachers and collected evidence and strange exhibits!! They found a space creature called Zogon Mrs James' computer – maybe he was trying to message home? Zog had a note attached to him saying "I’m lost I’m friendly please help me find my way home!!" Year 1 will be very busy over the next few weeks working on their topic 'Moon Zoom' to find out all about space.
The School In Reach service will be visiting school on Wednesday 8th October at 2pm for a Parent/Carer workshop on Emotional Regulation. All welcome to attend.
They will also be working with Years 3 - 6 over the next few weeks.

This morning our school came together to celebrate Owain Glyndŵr Day, a special occasion that takes place each year on 16th September. Owain Glyndŵr is remembered as the last native Prince of Wales, who was proclaimed Prince of Wales by his followers in 1400. He is an important figure in Welsh history and continues to be celebrated as a national hero.
